Thank you for the opportunity to offer both spoken and written remarks on the important topic of climate change, housing risk, and the role of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and the housing government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs). The Urban Institute is a non-profit, non-partisan research organization with interest in the development of sound policies that ensure stable housing markets with equitable adaptation responses to climate change’s effects. Our comments summarize our response to the two categories of questions noted in your Request for Input (RFI), and we also provide more contextual information.
