There is no way to keep appraisers honest. Many times one appraiser will say one price way below market value but you have another and it comes in good. I have seen appraisers compare new construction to existing homes in other cities instead of recently closed homes in same subdivisions. There seems to be no standard. And ww have no recourse to appeal to a differwnt appraiser.
