Good Morning, Dr. Calabria-

I hope this email finds you well!

 My name is Paul Ryll and I am a Certified Residential Appraiser located in Greenville, SC.  I have an appraisal firm in the Upstate of South Carolina and do a ton of lender work, year round.  

 I recently read a couple of articles about modernizing the appraisal process with a few quotes from you discussing your desire to create a more streamlined and accurate appraisal process.  Streamlining the process is something that I have been continuously working on since I received my certification and began working as an appraiser in both South Carolina and Virginia (reciprocal license due to a year earning my Master of Science in Real Estate and Infrastructure from Johns Hopkins University).  In fact, I am currently working with web-developers to create a web-based application to streamline the process and reduce the costs of private, pre-listing, and attorney needed appraisals. Perhaps, this could be something that can be adapted for lender work in the future.

I would love to be a part of the conversation in streamlining and modernizing residential real estate appraisals if you are searching for people to bounce ideas off of.  I am a little different than most appraisers in that I have a more entrepreneurial focus and a more formal education than most.  I hold the aforementioned Masters from JHU as well as am currently earning a Master of Professional Studies in the Food Business from The Culinary Institute of America which has no practical relevance to this project, just a weird fact about me and my continuous pursuit of education.
