As a technology provider in the mortgage origination space, Blend sees the most opportunity for financial technology innovation in any category that facilitates digitizing the input data used for loan decisioning (e.g. employment income data, asset data, property appraisal, etc.). This is where a majority of the friction to a seamless application process arises from, and also limits the end consumer's ability to self-serve the application process. We believe expanding access to digital, structured decisioning data will ultimately help drive more equitable access to mortgage loans and reduce origination costs for both lenders and consumers.
