I'm a renter. I currently pay $800.00 a month for a bathroom, and two rooms. The kitchen is in someone else's kitchen (downstairs.) It is a fairly kept up place. Though I wish it was less for it's size. I feel unable to move, cause I know anything else will be more than $1200.00 a month.
The last place I lived had the following issues: cockroaches (even climbing my walls, filthy carpets ,(never cleaned) cracked windows, peeling paint, broken blinds ri[pped linoleum, non functioning porch lights, problematic electricity, and extremely high power bills. I also had broken applicances and chronic plumbing problems. (One time I had to make do without a toilet for almost a week because that landlord didn't want to call a plumber) I lso did without a sink for a period of time. Basically, they delayed. And it took a long time for things to get done. I paid $600.00 for that place. And the last owner wanted to
increase it to $700.00, but kept telling me that he couldn't do most of the work cause I lived there. He also didn't believe me about the cockraches, until he moved the stove and found it was filled inside and under with cockroaches. I finally moved after the third landlord took over the property. He did necessary repairs after I left. And is charging $1300.00 a month. I has limited space. One small closet. (In the living room.) A bedroom without a door or closet. A kitchen without much space. Little cabinetry in the kitchen. Due to the high price of housing, of course he filled the space pretty quickly. (I will also note the heating and air were not taken care of, so there were breakdowns while I was there.)
