    Zions Bank is a strong supporter of the AHP Program, and has used it since 1993 to help local communities build the affordable housing needed to help low-income individuals climb up the financial ladder. Most recently, it was awarded $750K to help homeless victims of domestic violence escape dangerous situations and learn to live independently. It was also awarded $750K to help low-income seniors (who cannot afford to move into assisted living facilities) remodel their homes so that they can have a safe environment to age in place.

    We believe that the current system employed by the FHLB of Des Moines is an equitable system that uses a points system to evaluate applications in a fair and reasonable manor. While it is a competitive program that makes it challenging to receive an award, we believe that is a fair program, and we whole heartedly support it. We request that any modifications that are made are done in a transparent manor that further ensures equity and access to the AHP program.
