Alaska needs to be put on the high need rural area as well. Remote communities not on the mainland road system have many roadblocks to affordable housing. These include developers buying up parks and making tenants homeless in small remote communities that have no available housing and no affordable housing. Also along with high cost of goods, services and access dependent on weather for flights and ferries this is a major issue. Particularly coastal Alaska with fishing dependent communities where the majority of the workforce is low income cannery workers. One of the reasons for small parks closing is lack of funds for park owners to upgrade and expand or for homeowners to be able to obtain this kind of funding. Displaced residents can't afford to go from space rent in a mobile home park to market rent that is easily 4 times as much as well as lose their only asset, their paid for home (averaging $30,000) because of no available spot to relocate and/or lack of funding. Alaska needs to be on the high priority rural list!!!
