Unless you are on Section 8, there is no such thing as Affordable Housing in N.J. I live in Hudson County. I am a single working mom with 2 children. Last year I applied for an apartment in a brand new 'Affordable Housing' building in Bayonne. After submitting all my paperwork, I was given an interview and told to bring 2 month's rent as a security deposit. I took off from work and my children took off from school because both had to be with me at the interview. When we were finally seen, I was told that I make $50 too much per year and that I did not qualify. Later on I found out that every welfare family who applied were given apartments. How is this fair?
