As a licensed California real estate agent since 1987, I feel the new limits could be very detrimental to a very shaky market recovery in areas of the country with higher home values. The high end market is already the hardest hit and the market slowest to recover. Something needs to be done to address that segment of the market before you make your limits more restrictive, and proof that other mortgage programs installed need to be in place BEFORE you make such a risky move.
